Glossy coated paper

La glossy coated paper it is undoubtedly one of the most used and appreciated in the typographic field. Glossy coated paper is in fact the first choice when it comes to printing flyers and many other products such as posters, brochures and leaflets. It's an excellent one paper for flyers. Business cards are generally printed on matt coated paper: it is not uncommon to find ones with a glossy surface, but the effect in this case is due to the UV finish and not to the coating of the paper.

Glossy coated paper is obtained through a particular process aimed at applying special glossy pigments to the surface of the paper, giving it greater reflectivity and maximizing the brilliance of the colours. This type of processing should not be confused with lamination or UV finishing: these processes are applied to an already coated paper and produce a more accentuated glossy result. If you are looking for a flyer paper suitable for most uses, glossy coated paper is certainly a very good choice.

Uses and weights of glossy coated paper

As previously mentioned, glossy coated paper is widely used in flyer printing: most of these are in fact printed on glossy coated paper, generally from 90 to 135 g. to get the best quality/price ratio. Higher weights of glossy coated paper are used for folders and more rigid supports. Enhancing colors is a factor of particular importance in advertising technology precisely because it manages to make the advertising message more incisive, and glossy coated paper is the best type of support suitable for this purpose.
